Tea- Old Tree Black Tea (Not Smoked)
Harvest – Spring 2025
Origin – Tongmuguan, Wuyishan
This tea was produced in Tongmuguan, Unesco world heritage protected area where tea trees grow in a pristine environment. Unlike most areas of Wuyishan that are at relatively low elevation, Tongmuguan is situated at a much higher altitude of around 1000mt. This tea is made from older trees (laocong) left to grow freely in Tongmuguan. Tree reaching a certain age gives tea a special flavor called “cong wei” or old tree flavor.
This 2025 Laocong Xiaozhong is really nice to drink, it has rich woody and subtle aromatics with a delicate sweetness, a clean lasting finish and that congwei depth. Subtle aromatics but deeper taste make a refined cup without overwhelming and unbalanced fragrances while still being very tasty and refreshing. Marvellous tea.
Price is for 50 g.
