Brushstrokes Clay Kettle/Boiler

240.00

This large clay kettle/pot handmade in Jingdezhen on the wheel. Besides its looks this pot is also convenient to use in fact the special quality of this clay allow it to be used on electric hot plates (the same that can be used for cast iron tetsubin) without requiring the special ones for clay.

I reccomend this pot for those who like to prepare large pots of boiled tea but can be used simply to boil water too.

Unglazed on the inside. The exterior white slip color might change in with use getting darker and revealing some dark lines similar to crackles, only using it will tell. The handle is made of wood and metal.

IMPORTANT:  although the shape and style is the same for all pots, they are all different in how the white slip brushtrokes are applied so it will differ a bit from the one you see. This kind of irregular look is intentional and makes each pot unique but means it might not look exactly like the one pictured.   Contact us for more information.

Simple Tea Set (bell cups)

9.95

This set includes a 100ml white gaiwan and 3 white round cups (each holding about 30 ml). It is a very common type of factory made set that can be used to brew any tea. We offer this set also in the round cup version.

To complement this set we recommend adding a Gongdaobei for more convenient brewing, easier pour and the chance to appreciate the brewed tea colour.

However with enough skill this set can be used by itself by placing the cups on a plate in a triangle formation and pouring the tea straight from the gaiwan.

Check our brewing guide for more tips on how to brew tea and how to use a gaiwan.
