Shuixian Discovery Set 2025

Shuixian is a cultivar that embodies “elegance”. With its refined orchid-like aromatics and hints of sandalwood fragrance, the deep and subtle character of the old laocong trees fills the tea with a calming, almost spiritual energy.
The aromatics of these teas are exceptionally well-balanced, making a tea with multiple aromatic compounds that stay in the cup while the top notes vary noticeably depending on terroir and tree age.
Because of our love for shuixian, we always end up buying a lot of them almost without realising: different origins, mountains, tree ages, craftmanship.. each is interesting to try and to share with friends.
And that’s how this Shuixian Tasting Box was born: to share a taste of these different teas with those who are interested in experiencing different views of this elegant cultivar. Each tea is of course available in larger formats for more regular drinking.

Huangguanyin is a cultivar that is gaining many fans every year mainly thanks to its nice aromatics. Some describe it as having also a sweet milky aroma.
This Huangguanyin from the 2025 harvest expresses well the character of the cultivar, from the first sip it is full of bright aromatics and creamy notes. The tea is well processed in the “fragrance” style of lighter roasting. Refreshing and light to drink, with bright floral aromatics and a slight astringency in the later steeps.

Our Qilan 2025 is very fun to drink and packed with the cultivar’s signature aromatics: a powerful fragrance balanced by a smooth body and roast.
The bright floral character of the cultivar is shining in this tea, lingering in the aftertaste and bringing a bit of spring in the cup.

Origin – Xingcun, Wuyishan
Shuixian is one of the most popular cultivars in Yancha. The leaves of Shuixian are slightly bigger than most yancha varieties and it is considered to have a soft and comfortable character combined with nice aromatics.
Shengtai means something like biodiversity. This style of farming is a bit different from the usual. In 2021, the farmer took what was a previously normal tea garden and decided to grow tea avoiding any kind of pesticides and herbicides, just letting the tea garden grow in a more “wild” way. Weeds are cut by hand and the only product used is a fertilizer derived from rape seeds.
This Shuixian is very nice to drink, with rich roasted aromatics that start from the dry leaves and keep going in the cup. The mouth feel is smooth and the roasted notes blend well with the signature tea floral character leaving a lingering aromatic and lightly sweet finish. The flavor is balanced making a cozy and and tasty tea for any occasion.
