Lion Mount Shuixian 2020 – Zhengyan
Tea – Shuixian, Yancha Wulong
Harvest – Spring 2020
Origin – Lion Mountain Peak, Zhengyan
Shuixian is one of the most popular cultivars in Yancha. The leaves of Shuixian are slightly bigger than most yancha varieties and it is considered to have a soft and comfortable character combined with nice aromatics.
Coming from a very nice area in the protected scenic area known as Zhengyan, this medium roasted tea brings intense flavors that evolve during the session. It comes from normal Shuixian bushes giving it a clear Shuixian character that is enriched by the terroir notes of so called yanyun. The first brews especially are some of the more complex and layered with yun and, as usual, we recommend saving a bit of the very first infusion to drink at room temperature at the end. As the session progresses the intense shuixian aromatics emerge with a more floral and sweet finish.
Price is for 50 g.

Voyage 2019 Bairuixiang
Tea – Bairuixiang Yancha Wulong
Harvest – Spring 2019
Origin – Remote, unknown, very nice mountain. Banyan.
A journey to discover new cultivars and mountains.
Voyage 2019 is from a remote and unknown mountain with a great environment giving it a rich complex flavor for a quite good price.
Sweet, fun to drink and with clear Yanyun flavor and Bairuixiang character, Voyage 2019 is one of our favorite finds of the year.
This tea is available in two versions, the difference is only in the roasting phase of the tea. This one is processed with the classic charcoal roasting giving it a deeper flavor and smoother mouth feeling.

Bon Voyage
Roaring Kitten 2023 Jinmudan
Tea – Jinmudan, Yancha Wulong
Harvest – Spring 2023
Origin – Little Bamboo Forest, Wuyishan
The kitten is back! This tea comes from a very nice location near the prized Zhengyan scenic area making it a good value for money: great flavor but no famous location price tag. Made of pure Jinmudan cultivar and grown in this excellent terroir, the Roaring Kitten has a bright floral fragrance and a complex flavor with notes of Yanyun, the so called “melody of the cliffs” flavor, while remaining smooth to drink.
The tea is processed in a light way without a strong roasting, this makes the character and bright fragrance of the cultivar a protagonist that keeps lingering in the aftertaste. If brewed too long or intense it can have a little bitterness so don’t forget it during infusion.
A fun tea to drink and explore something different from the usual.
Price is for 50 g.
Tiger Style Rougui 2019 – Zhengyan
Tea – Yancha Wulong
Harvest – Spring 2018
Origin – Bai Yun Si, Zhengyan
This Rougui comes from the Zhengyan protected area of Wuyishan. Due to the impervious nature and small size of this area, the tea produced here is not a large amount. Zhengyan tea, especially Zhengyan Rougui, is highly prized because this terroir can give tea a special flavor called Yan Yun, a name that can be translated as the melody of the cliffs.
Tiger Style Rougui 2019 has a bright Yanyun and an intense, complex flavor with a sweet aftertaste and smooth but rich body. Everything that Zhengyan tea should be. We do not recommended this tea to inexperienced Yancha drinkers who are not familiar with the flavor of Rougui.
As usual we recommend to save a cup from the very first infusion/rinse aside to drink as last at room temperature. This will make the Yanyun flavor most clear and end the session on a high note.
Price is for 50 g.
Lazy Cat tea ain’t nuthin’ to f–k wit
Huangguanyin 2019 – Fragrance
Tea – Yancha Wulong
Harvest – Spring 2019
Origin – Xingcun, Wuyishan (Banyan)
Huangguanyin is a cultivar that is becoming more and more popular every year thanks to its powerful aromatics filled with green notes and florals. Some describe it as having also a milky aroma.
Huangguanyin Fragrance 2019 was processed lightly with minimal baking to showcase in full the cultivar character and the fragrance naturally present in the tea leaves. A bright day of spring in a cup with a refreshingly light and aromatic infusion.
*As a note this tea is unrelated from the huangguanyin 2018, different tea, different flavor and price even if the naming might be confusing.
