Shengtai Huangdan 2023
Tea – Yancha Wulong
Harvest – Spring 2023
Origin – Xingcun, Wuyishan
Shengtai means something like biodiversity. This style of farming is a bit different from the usual. In 2021, the farmer took what was a previously normal tea garden and decided to grow tea avoiding any kind of pesticides and herbicides, just letting the tea garden grow in a more “wild” way. The only product used is a fertilizer derived from rape seeds.
This Huangdan has a tasty roasted flavor with a nice sweetness in the aftertaste. It is balanced with roasty notes but floral aromatics that emerge more in the later steeps. Smooth, not overly complex, a nice tea for any occasion.
Price is for 50 g.
